What type of motor is generally used to run a computer case fan?

Could anybody that deals with computers a lot tell me what type of motor is most popular for computer case fans?

I have seen DC brushless on a couple different computers, but I want to know if that is generally the case. Also, if you could give me a reason why a certain type of motor is used, that would be a bonus.

Thanks! What type of motor is generally used to run a computer case fan?
DC brushless is the most common type used. It is quiet, and has no tendencies to produce noise signals that could interfere with the computer's operation. What type of motor is generally used to run a computer case fan?
In the 1980s and 1990s, PC cooling fans used a 2-phase motor because the area available for the motor in fan designs was larger and the cost of the control circuits was minimal. The first 1-phase fans were introduced in the late 1990s. The 1-phase motor is actually a 2-phase motor driven by a full bridge.

read this article it will be interesting for u ....
